incredible recovery because
someone took a chance on him.

Colorado Thoroughbred Rescue's Mission:
(1) Obtain equines in danger of being slaughtered;
(2) Educate the public on horse care;
(3) Offer help to equine owners in times of natural or personal disaster;
(4) Rehabilitate neglected and abused equines;
(5) Accept donations of unwanted equines for adoption into new homes;
(6) Place equines in new homes; and
(7) Improve the lives of equines throughout the United States, particularly Colorado.
Colorado Thoroughbred Rescue's Accomplishments:
(1) 39 horses have been spared from slaughter, rehabilitated, and adopted into lifetime
homes;
(2) First 501(c)(3) non profit agency devoted to equine welfare in Larimer County
(3) Assisted Larimer County Sheriff’s Office in the county’s largest seizure of
neglected horses, from Alesha Matchett and Animal Angels Horse Rescue;
(4) Work in cooperation with other rescue groups to provide homes for hundreds of
horses which are surrendered by their owners;
(5) Offers assistance to horse owners looking to dispose of their animals.
Colorado Thoroughbred Rescue's Goals:
(1) Establish a youth outreach program to begin in the summer of 2008;
(2) Establish a euthanasia program to provide owners of elderly, injured, or ill animals
with financial concerns an alternative to slaughter to begin in the fall of 2008;
(3) Establish a program to provide an emergency supply of feed to horse owners facing
unpredictable financial constraints;
(4) Expand Colorado Thoroughbred Rescue’s facilities through grant assistance;
(5) Establish an educational program focusing on basic horse-keeping necessities and
responsible breeding and ownership.
We are currently applying for grants to fund our youth outreach program, euthanasia fund, and
emergency feeding program. Please contact us if you would be interested in volunteering

Colorado TB Rescue is operated completely by volunteers. This means that donations dollars
are used directly for the care of the horses. Our horses are housed at foster home in
Wellington, Fort Collins, and Parker, Colorado.
